《西山》采用的表演形式是通过手工制作人物形象手工布景等来展现剧情的发展。主要讲述了由于人类的滥砍滥伐，随意捕杀野生动物导致“狐狸爸爸”的死亡和狐狸一家的家破人亡的悲剧故事。用以小见大的表现形式来一步步揭示微电影的主旨：保护森林，保护动物。
